Is there a best time to post on X (Twitter)?
Short answer
Not one that holds across accounts. We tested each weekday and six four-hour windows on 13 creator accounts, every account against its own posts. For reach, 4 of 90 weekday tests and 6 of 61 time-of-day tests passed the test against chance, and no day held up in more than 1 account, no window in more than 2. For the median account, reach on any weekday sat between −2% and +9% of its other days.
Weekdays
Reach barely moves with the day. Replies and bookmarks move more, 14 of 90 and 11 of 83 tests, but in both directions: Tuesday, for example, was reliably better for replies in 2 accounts and reliably worse in 1.

Time of day
Hours are in UTC, because the set does not record each creator's time zone. That moves the borders of the windows for each account but never mixes two accounts, since every account is tested alone. Your own report reads the hours in your time zone.

What to do with this
Post when the post is ready, not when a chart says so. Where a day or an hour did pass the test here, it did so in 2 accounts at most, and not in the others. If your account has one, it shows up in your own posts: the free plan opens the time-of-day table for your latest 50.
What this sample is, and what it is not
13 public creator accounts on X, chosen by us, mostly in tech, AI and indie building, with 62 to 3,735 followers (median 1,424). For each we took the newest original posts up to 500 (114 to 499 per account), published between 2 Jan 2026 and 14 Sept 2026, with their public reach, bookmarks and replies. Replies to other posts are left out.
Every account was measured only against its own posts, so a large account cannot outvote a small one. “Reliably higher in 5 of 12 accounts” means the gap passed that account's own test against chance in 5 of the 12 accounts that had enough posts in the group. It is a pattern in these accounts, not a law of X, and it does not prove that the kind of post causes the gap.
Your posts are not the median
The same test runs on your own posts: the free plan reads your latest 50 through the official X API, read-only, and shows whether these groups hold up for you; the Deep Check names every one. About 2 minutes, no payment details.

Questions
What is the best time to post on X?
In this data there is none that holds across accounts. Of 61 time-of-day tests on reach, 6 passed the test against chance, and no four-hour window held up in more than 2 of 13 accounts. Your own posts are the only reliable source for your account.
What is the best day to post on X?
No weekday was reliably better or worse for reach in more than 1 of 13 accounts. For the median account, reach on any weekday sat between −2% and +9% of its other days.
Is the morning the best time to post on X?
Not in this data. Posts published between 08:00 and 12:00 UTC passed the test for reach, in either direction, in 0 of the 10 accounts that posted enough in that window.
Why do best-time charts say something else?
A chart that pools many accounts shows when the large accounts post, because their posts carry the most views. Here every account is compared only with its own posts, so the hour an account prefers cannot pass for a good hour.
